Summer’s here! First in your to-do list is to get a boat.  Next step?  Boat insurance, of course.

But what’s the right boat insurance for your spanking new bass fishing boat?

Well, it actually depends on how big and functional it is.  For small boats that go less than 25 miles per hour, such as kayaks and canoes, you can just insure them under your homeowners or renters insurance policy according to the Insurance Information Institute (III).  But for more powerful boats, like high performance wakeboarding boats or party barges, you have to protect them with a separate insurance policy.
