People Driving Without Insurance Has Seen An Increase Thanks To The Recession

As the recession continues to beat everyone when it comes to their budgeting, most of us are now considering cutting off even the necessities. If you have been driving for a long time now, you are aware that auto insurance is required by the government, thus making it a necessity as well. Now would you say that you will never eliminate this plan or are you already one of those who stopped paying for their auto insurance?

Based on a research, there are approximately 80,000 people who are now driving without insurance since the start of the recession. The bad thing about this is that unlike life or travel insurance, car insurance is a legal requirement and not a voluntary extra. Should you encounter a road accident, even if you are not the one at fault, you’ll still face a penalty because of not having insurance.

According to Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland (MIBI), the company that compensates the victims of drivers without cover, uninsured drivers on the roads of Ireland have become huge trouble for them. So recently, John Casey, a spokesperson for the MIBI, has warned that those people who are ignoring the law and driving without motor cover could be pursued through the courts if they are responsible for an accident.
