Mischa Barton’s Career Heads Further South

The OC star and fashion icon, Mischa Barton is getting deeper and deeper into trouble that even her insurance plan is now captured by the news.

She is currently under involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after she was removed from her West Hollywood home by police, due to a medical issue, which Barton herself called a “freakout.”

Her career prospects are set to get a whole lot worse because of the hospitalization.  Any insurance company on its right mind would think twice of insuring her, considering her condition.  She could lose her future work if she can’t have herself insured.

Andy McDonough, an insurance broker with Arts & Entertainment Insurance told Life & Style magazine, “Could she be insurable on future films? Well, it will depend on what happens in this case and if she is able to complete the project.”

Barton’s only feasible chance to get insured is through her current project, The Beautiful Life, in which she and the studio could be included in the insurance plan.  “If the studio bought a policy and listed her on it, they’re probably covered. If not, it would be very hard to go back and get insurance on her now. It would be like trying to get health insurance for someone who just had a massive heart attack.”

As we know, one of the key factors in getting a good deal with insurance companies is to stay fit.  But considering Barton’s case, she’s more likely to end up with a very bad insurance deal, if not totally nothing at all.
